"Virat Kohli's Indian team is capable of winning the 5-match Test series of England"

Former Pakistani cricketer Asif Iqbal said the team led by Virat Kohli was the best team to visit England.

The hosts are currently leading the five-match Test series between India and England by 2-1. However, India still has the chance to win the Test series.

If India comes from 0-2 behind and wins a Test series, India will become the second team after Don Bradman led Australia back in 1936.

“Even after watching the Indian team lose at Edgbaston, I strongly believed that this was the best Indian team ever to tour England. In my opinion, it was because of the way they played. They have got seamers to bowl in these conditions and spinners who can turn things around and the batsmen to score the runs.  I think their fielding has been top class during the test series so far. They have got every department covered,”

Asif Iqbal said during an exclusive interview with Xtratime.

I personally enjoy watching Virat bat in whatever format: Asif Iqbal

Asif is so impressed with the India captain Kohli's batting in the ongoing series.

Kohli is the leading run scorer in both teams of the country's mile. He has already scored a couple of centuries and fifties in the series.

“I personally enjoy watching Virat bat in whatever format. He always plays proper cricketing shots in whatever format he is playing. He doesn’t play any innovative shots. Kohli scores faster but does it without playing any rash shots. The other Indian cricketer who I enjoy watching bat is Rohit Sharma,”
Asif added.

Recently Kohli took the No. 1 Test batsman position by replacing the top-ranked Australian captain Steven Smith.

“I think Virat is rightly the No. 1 batsman in the world not just because he is scoring runs against England but the way he scores his runs. Look at the two centuries he scored especially the one at Edgbaston in trying conditions. If you look at the three test matches so far he is way ahead regarding the leading run scorer from both sides,”
 Iqbal maintained.

Asif is a big fan of how Kohli works about his work as team captain. He compared Kohli with Imran Khan. Imran remains the only leader and captain to lead Pakistan to the World Cup title in 1992.

Asif Iqbal feels Virat Kohli is a sort of a player who draws people to the ground:
“I think you need players like Virat to draw people to the cricket grounds.  The most important thing is he is producing results. Imran Khan led from the front because he used to perform and demand commitment. I can see the similarity between Virat and Imran because Virat also performs and because of that reason he can demand the respect of his teammates. Virat has all the qualities to make a successful captain,”
Iqbal remarked.

Meanwhile, a former Pakistani cricketer feels Indian team doing well in the fast bowling department. He is very impressive for the current crop of Indian fast bowlers.

“I don’t know what kind of the wickets the domestic matches are played on in India these days, but the current bunch of bowlers is all brilliant. It looks like India is producing wickets that encourage seamers. Indian bowlers in recent times have shown that if they have the conditions in their favor they can create havoc in opposition batting ranks as was the case in South Africa where they took 60 wickets,”
he stated.

Meanwhile, he found that Sachin Tendulkar was not included in the list of 11 best batsmen of all time.

“It is laughable. I don’t know who compiles such lists, as they should be a bunch of jokers. It is baffling to see the world’s leading run scorer (Sachin Tendulkar)not present in that list. I don’t know what the criteria are or how they picked these players because some of the names featuring in that list does not deserve,”
concluded Iqbal.

Sir. Donald George Bradman Order of Australia (27 August 1908-25 February 2001) widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman ever seen in the Cricket World (batsman). He is an Australian and is honored to be called The Don. He has an average of 99.94 in batting, the average is considered to be statistically the highest level in all major sports. Australia is a popular story that Bradman practiced with a cricket stump and golf ball when he was younger.

Sir. Donald George Bradman's Test Career

In just 2 years he has been promoted to Test cricket from Galle cricket. By the time he at the age of 22nd, he had set up many batting records, some of them still standing there.

Don Bradman's batting average is a unique number of 99.94 cricket worlds. In Australia, what kind of acknowledges this is that the Australian Broadcasting Company's All-postal Postal Box number 9994. No batsman, who has played more than 20 Test innings, has not gone above 61, an average of 99.94.

No batsman who played Test matches has scored centuries as Don Bradman scored. In every third inning, he scored a century. He has totally scored 29 centuries.

In his 20-year career, Don Bradman's consistency at the words of Australia's former captain Bill Woodfull stated that "he is worthy of the three batsmen to Australia". The England team designed a bowling style specifically to suppress Bradman's scoring, it is a controversial technique called the Bodyline.

As captain and manager, Don Bradman was committed to entertainment and attacking cricket; He took the audience in record numbers. However, they hated consistent adultery, and it influenced how they were dealing with others. Some of those who focused on their personal performances deteriorated with team members, administrators, and journalists. Following a break from World War II, he led the Australian team called "The Invincibles" in a record-breaking tour of England.

A complex, highly motivated person who does not give close personal relationships, Don Bradman retains his position as the manager, selector, and writer for three decades after his retirement. After he became aware of his deteriorating years, his opinion was more demanding and national icon status was still identified.

In 2001, 50 years after retirement as a Test player, Australian Prime Minister John Howard called "Great Living Australian". Don Bradman's image appeared on postage stamps and coins, and he still lived, but a museum dedicated to their lives was opened. On 27 August 2008, The Royal Australian released the $ 5 commemorative gold coin with Mint Broadman's image on the centenary of her birth. In 2009, he was involved in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

Sir. Donald George Bradman's End of the era

During the 1938 tour of England, Bradman played the most consistent cricket of his career. The England team had a strong batting line-up, so he had to score more, but heavily dependent on the bowling O'Reilly of Australia. Without Grimmett, But Jack Fingleton formed the team, so the band of anti-Bradman players remained. Bradman played 26 innings in the tour, scoring 13 hundred (a new Australian record) and 1,000 first-class runs until the end of May, making him the only player to win twice.

Don Bradman achieved the highest average ever recorded in the English season, scoring 2,429 runs: 115.66. Bradman played 26 innings in the tour, scoring 13 hundred (a new Australian record) and 1,000 first-class runs until the end of May, making him the only player to win twice.

Sir. Donald George Bradman's Later years and death

After his wife's death in 1997, Don Bradman experienced "a perceptible and unexpected surprise." The following year, on his 90th birthday, he met with his favorite modern players Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar, but he did not see in his familiar place again at the Adelaide Oval. He was hospitalized in pneumonia in December 2000 and returned home in the new year and died on 25 February 2001 at the age of 92.

Raksha Bandhan: A Symbol of Mutual Dependence and a Mark of Respect

Raksha Bandhan, or simply Rakhi, is an Indian festival around the tying of a thread or bracelet on the wrist as a form of bond between brother and sister, observed both before and after she gets married thereby marking her continued relationship with her natal home and brothers. Different versions of this rule are traditionally performed in northern India, western India, Nepal, and some Hindu, Jain and Sikh emigrants from the India subcontinent since the 19th-century.

According to the Hindu lunar calendar, Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the last day of the month of Shraavana, which typically falls in August. On this day, sisters of all ages tie a  rakhi to their brothers, affirming the bond and support of their brothers. They receive a return gift from their brothers. The word "Raksha Bandhan," comes from Sanskrit, it means, "the bond of protection, obligation, or care."

Raksha Bandhan Traditions

The typical Raksha Bandhan festival as observed between brother-sister starts with the sister(s) selecting a colorful rakhi, a form of the woven bracelet, ahead of the festival. On the day of the festival, she meets her biological brother(s), cousins, or adopted a brother-like friend, along with the whole family. In parts of north India, women may travel to visit their brothers, typically their natal homes. She ties the rakhi on his wrist on the Raksha Bandhan day. After the band is in place, the brother and the sister pray. The sister applies a tilak (tikka), a colorful mark on the forehead of the brother. After the tilak, she performs an aarti wishing him a long healthy life. In return, the brother pledges to protect her and take care of his sister under all circumstances. The brother may give his sister(s) gifts or some money, and they may also feed each other with sweets, dry fruits, and other seasonal delicacies.

According to Jack Goody, these traditional rituals connote "a symbol of mutual dependence and a mark of respect" between the brother and the sister. The brother, states Goody, may wear the Rakhi thread for many weeks through the Diwali, or just for the day or two. Among women and men who are not blood relatives, they also celebrating this Raksha Bandhan festival, which have cut across caste and class lines, and Hindu and Muslim divisions. Raksha Bandhan is also celebrated by Hindu communities in other parts of the world.

"While traditional North Indian families do not have a Father's or Mother's Day, or even the equivalent of Valentine's Day, there is a Sister's Day, called Raksha Bandhan, ..."
Anthropologist Michael Jackson

About Rakhi and Raksha Bandhan in Hindu mythology

King Bali and Goddess Lakshmi

According to Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana, after Vishnu won the three worlds from the demon King Bali, Bali asked Vishnu to stay with him in his palace, a request Vishnu granted. Vishnu's wife, Goddess Lakshmi did not like the palace or his newfound friendship with Bali and preferred that her husband and she return to Vaikuntha. So she went to Bali, tied a rakhi and made him a brother to her. Bali asked her what gift she desired. Lakshmi asked that Vishnu is freed from the request that he lives in Bali's palace. Bali consented, as well accepted her as his sister.

Santoshi Maa

Ganesha had two sons, Shubha and Labha. The two boys become frustrated that they have no sister to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with. They ask their father Ganesha for a sister, but to no avail. Finally, saint Narada appears who persuades Ganesha that a daughter will enrich him as well as his sons. Ganesha agreed and created a daughter named Santoshi Maa by divine flames that emerged from Ganesh's wives, Riddhi (Amazing) and Siddhi (Perfection). Thereafter, Shubha Labha (literally "Holy Profit") had a sister named Santoshi Maa (literally "Goddess of Satisfaction"), to tie Rakhi over Raksha Bandhan.

Yama and the Yamuna

According to another legend, Yama, the god of Death, had not visited his sister Yamuna for 12 years. The Yamuna was sad and consulted Ganga. Ganga reminded Yama of his sister, upon which Yama visits her. The Yamuna was overjoyed to see her brother and prepared a bounty of food for Yama. The god Yama was delighted and asked the Yamuna what she wanted for a gift. She wished that he, her brother should return and see her again soon. Yama was moved by his sister's love, agreed and to be able to see her again, and made river Yamuna immortal. This legend is the basis for a Raksha Bandhan-like festival called Bhai Duj in some parts of India, which also celebrates brother-sister love, but near Diwali.

Krishna and Draupadi

In the epic Mahabharat, Draupadi tied a rakhi on Krishna, while Kunti tied her rakhi on her grandson Abhimanyu, before the great war.

About Rakhi and Raksha Bandhan in Indian History

  1. According to one legendary narrative, when Alexander the Great invaded India in 326 BCE, Roxana (or Roshanak, his wife) sent a sacred thread to Porus, asking him not to harm her husband in battle. In accordance with tradition, Porus, the king of Kaikeya kingdom, gave full respect to the rakhi. In the Battle of the Hydaspes, when Porus saw the rakhi on his own wrist and restrained himself from attacking Alexander personally.
  2. Another controversial historical account is that of Rani Karnavati of Chittor and Mughal Emperor Humayun, which dates to 1535 CE. When Rani Karnavati, the widowed queen of the king of Chittor, realized that she could not defend against the invasion by the Sultan of Gujarat, Bahadur Shah, she sent a rakhi to Emperor Humayun.
  3. In the 18th century, states Arvind-Pal Singh Mandair, Sikh Khalsa armies introduced the term Rakhi (Raksha Bandhan) as a promise of protection to peasant farmers from Afghan invaders, often in exchange for sharing a small cut of their farm produce.
  4. Maharaja Ranjit Singh was the founder and ruler of the Sikh Empire, and he observed Raksha Bandhan festival. His wife Maharani Jindan sent a Rakhi to the ruler of Nepal, who accepted her as sister and gave her refuge in the Hindu kingdom of Nepal in 1849 after the collapse of the Sikh Empire and annexation of its territories by the British.

A girl is tying a rakhi (a Rakshasutra) around her mother's wrist as part of the celebration Rakshbandhan in a village Lahree, Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Rabindranath Tagore and the Bengal partition of 1905

Rabindranath Tagore invoked Raksha Bandhan and Rakhi as concepts to inspire love, respect and a vow of mutual protection between Hindus and Muslims during India's colonial era. In 1905, the British empire divided Bengal, a province of British India on the basis of religion. Rabindra Nath Tagore arranged a ceremony to celebrate Raksha Bandhan to strengthen the bond of love and togetherness between Hindus and Muslims of Bengal and urge them to together protest the British empire. He used the idea of Raksha Bandhan to spread the feeling of brotherhood. Rabindranath Tagore started Rakhi Mahotsavas as a symbol of Bengal unity, and as a larger community festival of harmony. In parts of West Bengal, his tradition continues as people tie rakhis to their neighbors and close friends.

One of Tagore's poem invoking rakhi is

The love in my body and heart
For the earth's shadow and light
Has stayed over years.

With its cares and its hope, it has thrown
A language of its own
Into blue skies.

It lives in my joys and glooms
In the spring night's buds and blooms
Like a Rakhi-band
On the Future's hand.

Importance of Varamahalakshmi Vratham and the story behind festival celebration

Pic: Wikipedia

India is a country with many traditional values, cultures, religions, and festivals. Some festivals are celebrated at the national level but at some regional level. In many festivals, Varamahalakshmi Vratham is a major Hindu festival. It is celebrated by women in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated in Shravan Masam (July-August) - Friday before Purnima.

Varamahalakshmi Vratham is performed by married women for the well-being of their family members. It is believed that worshipping Goddess Vara Maha Lakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshipping Ashta-Lakshmi - the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Learning, Love, Fame, Peace, Pleasure, and Strength.

Varamahalakshmi Vratham: Hindu mythology

The importance of Varamahalakshmi worship is mentioned in Skanda Purana. The importance of Varamahalakshmi worship is believed to have been narrated to Parvati by Shiva. The goddess Parvati wanted to know the lucrative life of the woman, which helps to lead a happy and rich life on earth. Later Lord Shiva spoke about Varamahalakshmi Vratham.

There are some popular stories related to Varamahalakshmi Vratham.

Shyamabala welcomed the elderly woman and asked for the greatness of Varamahalakshmi Vratham. When she returned to her country, she displayed the circle as the old woman directed. Soon his empire began to flourish and the prince appreciated for his good governance.

However, Shyamabala's parents had to undergo a number of problems and were suffering around. The king and the queen lost their wealth and people started a rebellion against their rule. Hearing the pain of her parents' empire, Shyamabala sent golden pottery, but the moment her mother set eyes on them they became an Ashes. After hearing this incident, she realized that the Lakshmi in the dress of an old woman, Lakshmi was had come out of the palace as a result of her mother. She asked her mother to apologize to Lakshmi and perform the groom's walks. They did so and were able to achieve the past glory.

Eid al-Adha (Bakra Eid) also called the "Festival of Sacrifice"

Eid-al-Adha, also known as Bakra Eid, is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year (the other being Eid al-Fitr). It honors the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command. Before Abraham could sacrifice his son, God provided a ram to sacrifice instead. In commemoration of this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into three parts: one-third of the share is given to the poor and needy; another third is given to relatives, friends, and neighbors; and the remaining third is retained by the family.

Since then people celebrate the festival by sacrificing an animal. The festival pays tribute to one of the greatest demonstrations of faith with Islam. In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha (Bakra Eid) falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. In the international (Gregorian) calendar, the dates vary from year to year drifting approximately 11 days earlier each year. Eid al-Adha (Bakra Eid`) is the latter of the two Eid holidays, the former being Eid al-Fitr.

In 2018, Eid al-Adha (Bakra Eid) will be celebrated on August 22. As we celebrate Eid al-Adha (Bakra Eid), here are some SMS, WhatsApp messages, pictures, and Facebook status to share with your family and friends.

Can a former cricketer change Pakistan?

Two decades after former cricketer Imran Khan's entry into politics, Pakistan's prime ministerial candidate has been elected.

This is the culmination of an extravagant career in the West in the 1970s, particularly as the Oxford-educated playboy in the UK, as he was in batting crease in London's nightclub.

In the West, former Pakistani correspondent Jonathan Boon writes for the Guardian, whose politics are still

"thought to be as liberal as their private life".

Upcoming months and years will determine whether it is true.

The promise of change

He started his political career in the late 1990s, and in 1992, the Pakistan Cricket Team was still shining because of the World Cup win. But it took two decades to become a serious contender for power.

So Mr. Imran Khan, and many of his followers, it's a dream come true.

They bring the promise of change to them; Advanced education and health care facilities and more jobs for young people - they have about 64% of the country's population and most of Mr. Imran Khan's election support.

They are kept comfortably to do this. With their position in the parliamentary seats, instead of an uncomfortable alliance with the organized parties, they will be able to gather the required majority by attracting independent candidates.

Their initial challenge as prime minister is to gain legitimacy - they see critics and rivals as representatives of the country's powerful military establishment, who have manipulated the electoral process to postpone power.

Mr. Sharif has been expelled from the Supreme Court last year - in a statement issued by Shri Sharif in 2013 alleging that Mr. Sharif's weakening of democracy was a bad five-year campaign against Sri Sharif as well as domestic and international observers. Free and fair.

But this is only half the problem.

Imran Khan's choices in power

Analysts say he is likely to end by walking one of two possible ways.

They can find a way to work with rival parties like PML-N and PPP - in front of a strong opposition to Pakistan's reality and the right-wing opposition from the top positions of power, their combined parliamentary power, not less than Mr. Imran Khan and their PTI.

It can take some nerves, as their political campaign represents the two parties as the main enemies.

Another option is to govern with the younger followers in the advanced system of controlled democracy. In that case, they can sit and enjoy the position when they are good.

Blow to Royal politics

Viewers say Mr. Imran Khan's major challenges are likely to flow with his rather simple idea what Pakistan ails do. This is evident in recent years when he tells his followers.

His two main rivals, the PML-N and PPP parties, have been in power since democracy since 1988 - the only way that rich Imran Khan can fulfill the promise of job creation and advanced services is by maintaining a death shot to royal politics - and by crippling corrupt leaders and stealing them.

They did not show any desire to distinguish between fearless democracy and the security of the nation and military-dominated democracy trying to control foreign policies, and run its own big business empire.

They did not indicate that they would see religious militancy as a problem.

Military power

Many believe that during the Middle Ages they appear in a collision course with a military establishment, their two ancestors experience.

Because when they take office and look at the big picture, senior political observers say that they find ways to improve health and education and create jobs and pass through the region that has acquired and acquired the economic growth of Pakistan.

Like their predecessors, they say that they must first cut off the conflict and tensions in the region, particularly in India, where such disputes are widely blamed on Pakistan's security system.

They should also improve the nation's bureaucracy and the judiciary, and ensure that the government's writ should be reinforced and strengthened in the areas where the military is obliged to pay for the interests of the rent-seeking business.

But by the time the election is over, many of the tenants in the tenor of the party's ministers are portrayed and they do not get the easy goal to achieve it.

Failure to join the army also injures the international level of the country.

It is already facing assistance restrictions from Washington and has so far been the source of the country's leading security and development fund.

And is listed on the supervision of the International Terrorism-Finance Watchdog, the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which further affects international money.

The country is already in the financial crisis - its foreign debt is from the balloon and its currency is in free fall.

Interestingly, as the greylisted by the FATF at the end of June, the country is internationally wanted by militant leaders to remove the restrictions on the election, under the "military" mainstream military sponsored policy of the report.

It did not go down well with Delhi or Washington, but unlike their top political rivals, Mr. Imran Khan was not far behind to raise this issue during his election campaign.

THE POWER OF LATE-NIGHT SNACKING

Liz Swann Miller

You’re staring at your computer screen with weary eyes. Dinner has come and gone, but that oh-so-familiar beast we call Hunger has reeled its damn head again.

But you can’t snack after eight o’clock, right? That’s weight loss rule number one. Or is it?

I’m about to share with you some helpful truths for a situation of this kind.

There’s an ironic flipside to my mostly honorable label of ‘Liz Swann Miller – Weight Loss Expert’. I must strictly resign myself to the continuous expectation the general public attributes to the title – that I have it together.

Liz would never gain excessive amounts of weight. Liz would never give in to that looming golden M on the highway. Liz doesn’t snack late at night. How does Liz do it?

Let me tell you a secret. Liz struggles. Liz feels the exact temptations you feel, and resists the exact pulls you resist.

As this ‘Weight Loss Expert’, I often need to remind myself not only to pursue a healthy lifestyle in order to fulfill the expectation of my title and my career, but for my optimal wellbeing.

The temptation, for me, is at its worst late at night, during that time when I’ve supposedly declared eating over, yet I’m fighting hunger, bleary-eyed, answering hundreds of emails from clients seeking advice for topics such as this.

Firstly – it’s important to note that hunger is a basic survival instinct – and we must be grateful for it. The fact that it exists is an amazing feat in itself. Don’t be ashamed. Just know how to appease the beast.

There are those who claim the most effective diets are those which have you eating only two meals a day, and drinking water for the rest. I strongly encourage you to ignore these methods, as they are not sustainable.

The secret is snacking. And I don’t mean digging around in a bag of chips and licking the salt off your fingers (we’ve all been there), I mean pouring yourself a bowl of organic nuts. Or blueberries. Or frozen peas. Be inventive, but clever about it. Choose the right food in moderation.

But let’s talk about the late-night secret. It’s simple. And easy. Are you ready for it?

Okay. It’s a cup of tea. Don’t underestimate those three words. Not to drink immediately before bed, but rather in the gap between dinner and sleep.

My go-to is the always delicious, always sufficient Red Tea. It satisfies the hunger itch, but leaves me feeling clean, calm and revitalized, primarily due to its detoxifying properties. And it’s caffeine free – so don’t fear, you won’t be bouncing from the walls.

After my extensive studies around fat-burning solutions, the myths and the answers, I created this tea with ingredients selected carefully for late night cravings and overall weight loss (you can find the recipe in the link below). The benefits are endless, but the solution is simple.

Set yourself a challenge. I’ll be right there with you. Ditch the chips, the ice cream, and the guilty pleasure cheese blocks. Get the kettle bubbling and pour yourself a steaming mug of Red Tea. I guarantee – you will fall in love with the taste – and late night cravings will be a beast of the past.

WHY RED TEA IS BETTER THAN GREEN TEA FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Liz Swann Miller

Green tea has long been acknowledged for its health and wellness benefits, including weight loss assistance. The evidence is irrefutable. But are we overlooking something better?

It is true that green tea contains powerful antioxidants. These components contribute to minimizing health risks such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.

As a Weight Loss Expert, it has been my primary goal to share practical tips and tricks for those pursuing optimal health. In upholding my obligation to transparency, I am about to reveal how green tea, although beneficial, is gradually losing value in the light of its delicious rival – rooibos.

Rooibos, also known as red tea, is equally high in antioxidants, however, sourced from different substances to that of green tea. The antioxidants contained in rooibos – aspalathin and nothofagin – are comparatively rare, and help to regulate blood sugar, reduce excessive fat production, stress, and inhibit metabolic disorders.

After the results of recent studies, alongside my own findings related to the major players in sustainable weight loss, I consider red tea an essential. In addition to preventing heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and more, it is an accessible and effective answer to weight gain.

This year I began the production of my Red Tea Detox. A primary goal was to harness the incredible benefits of rooibos whilst combining the ingredient with a number of other, equally valuable elements.

Rooibos means red bush. The plant is readily available, with leaves that turn red upon fermentation. With so much potential to assist with our health and wellness journeys, I considered it wrong to ignore the strength of the plant.

Unlike green tea, red tea does not contain caffeine, and therefore drinking the blend at night won’t leave you restless.

Another factor of its ultimate superiority is simply – taste. The bitterness of green tea is often attributed to its high tannin content, which is less prevalent in red tea.

Many health products do not aim to bridge the gap between adults and young children, but the pursuit of health is of equal importance for both demographics. Which is why I’ve designed a recipe that caters to all ages and tastes, with the inclusion of a sweetened version of the recipe.

This particular Red Tea Detox program is fresh and matchless, already actively transforming lives since its launch.
